The short version
- Factwright is free. It’s in beta, so things may change or break.
-
It runs on your own Claude account, under Anthropic’s terms and your plan’s
limits.
-
What you make is yours, and you decide what to send. Read everything first: AI
can be wrong.
-
Keep your recovery key safe. Without it and your devices, your synced job hunt
can’t be recovered.
-
Factwright comes as it is, and our liability is limited. Illinois law applies.
The short version helps you read the terms. The full terms below are what count.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding agreement. In these terms, “we” and
“us” mean Neatifai LLC, and “Factwright” means the app, this website, the app’s
downloads and updates, and the sync service and web view at app.factwright.com.
The app
You may download Factwright, install it, and use it. It’s free.
The app updates itself: it downloads a new version in the background
and installs it the next time you restart or quit it.
Factwright is open source: its code is on
GitHub, under the GNU Affero
General Public License, version 3 (the AGPL). The AGPL lets you run, copy, change and
share the code, and nothing in these terms limits that. Where these terms set rules, such
as who can use Factwright and what you may not do, they cover the services we run: this
website, the downloads and updates, and sync with its web view. Factwright also includes
other open-source software, under its own licenses.
You can support Factwright through Buy Me a Coffee or GitHub Sponsors, if you like. That
goes to Steve Hillyer personally, who builds Factwright for us, under that service’s
terms. It isn’t a payment to us: it doesn’t buy features or support, and it isn’t
a charitable donation.
Your Claude
Factwright needs Claude Code, signed in to your own Anthropic account. Your use of Claude
is between you and Anthropic: you agree to follow Anthropic’s terms (its
Consumer Terms for a Pro or
Max plan, or its Commercial
Terms for a Team or Enterprise plan or an API key) and its
usage policy, and Claude’s work counts
against your plan or is billed to your API key. Anthropic can change how Claude works or
what it costs, and we don’t control that. Factwright isn’t made by Anthropic or
affiliated with it.
What you send
Factwright helps you write resumes, answers and messages from facts you’ve confirmed,
but AI can still be wrong. Before you send anything, read it and make sure it’s true and
right for you. You’re responsible for what you send, and you do the sending: Factwright
never applies or messages anyone for you.
Fit scores, salary estimates and what Claude finds about a company are estimates, not
advice. Factwright can’t promise interviews, offers or any other result.
Follow the rules of the sites you use, such as job boards and LinkedIn. Only put
information about other people into Factwright, such as contacts and references, if you
have the right to. Job postings, search results and other pages come from their own
sites. We don’t check them, and we’re not responsible for them.
Factwright and your Claude change files in your job hunt folder, and sync copies each
change, deletions too, to your other devices. Keep your own backup of anything you can’t
lose. You also choose what Claude may do without asking: if you let it read any site or
change any file without asking, you accept the risk that comes with that.
Your content
What you put into Factwright or make with it, such as your facts, resumes and notes,
stays yours. If you turn on sync, you let us store and copy your encrypted data only as
needed to run sync for you. Our privacy policy says what we keep
and why.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
Sync and your account
Sync is optional. If you use it:
-
Keep your devices and your recovery key safe. You’re responsible for what happens
under your account.
-
If you lose every device and your recovery key, your synced job hunt can’t be
recovered, by you or by us.
-
Each account can store up to 1 GB, in files of up to 25 MB, and has fair limits on how
often it syncs. We may change these limits.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the web view.
What you may not do
Don’t use Factwright to:
- break the law, or anyone else’s rights
- get into other people’s accounts or data
- attack or overload our services, or get around their limits
- send spam
Don’t use or export Factwright where US export laws or sanctions forbid it.
The beta, and ending
Factwright is in beta, so features may change, break or go away. We may suspend or end
your use of sync if you break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.
If we ever shut sync down, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before, so you can download
your data, unless something outside our control stops it sooner. The app keeps working
on your computer without it.
You can stop using Factwright at any time.
No warranties
Factwright is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind,
whether express or implied, including any warranty that it’s fit for a particular
purpose, merchantable, accurate, secure or free of errors, that it won’t be
interrupted, or that it doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights, as far as the law allows.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special,
consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, jobs or opportunities,
even if we were told they might happen. Our total liability for any claim about
Factwright is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before
the claim.
Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Claims against us
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, or
because of something you put into Factwright or sent with it, you’ll cover our
reasonable costs from it, as far as the law allows.
Law and disputes
Illinois law governs these terms, apart from its rules about which law applies. Any
dispute about Factwright will be settled in the state or federal courts in Illinois, and
you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
If the law where you live gives you rights these terms can’t take away, such as the
right to bring a claim in your own courts, you keep those rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and if a
change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you
keep using Factwright after that, you accept the new terms.
Everything else
These terms, with the AGPL for Factwright’s code, are the whole agreement between you and us
about Factwright. Our
privacy policy explains how we handle your information. If part
of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If they end, the parts meant
to last, such as the limits on liability and the law that applies, still apply. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we haven’t given up the right to.
You can’t transfer these terms to someone else. We can, if Factwright moves to another
company.
